Wrong slave cylinder?

Hi, I'm changing a bad slave cylinder on an 03 Mini S. The new cylinder looks identical except that the recess that the hydraulic line attaches to is about a quarter of an inch deeper. When I attach the line, it leaks. The dealer only has the cylinder with the deeper recess and doesn't know anything about it. Help!

What part number did they give you? If I am looking at the manual correctly, you should have part #21516777428.
