Hoping To Buy MCS

Hey guys, new member here! Hoping to get a used MCS within a month or so.

A few simple questions - I'd like to get an 05 for the upgraded lights and transmission, but is there any reason to opt for an 04 aside from a little savings?

Is there anything particular I should look for when getting one? Must-have options?

I've seen several 05 MCS with reasonable (<45K) mileage in the $20K range. Think it's possible to get a clean one down for about $17K?

Thanks a lot!
-Wyatt

That might be a little bit of a stretch at that price for a mcs, just a mc would be closer to your price. You might be able to find something on the east coast around that price . The prices are the reason we bought new. Our 07 cost less than most of the 2-3 yr old mcs that we were looking at with pretty much the same kind of options.Good luck on your search.

Yeah, I hate the PNW markups on all cars (used market).

How was it that the new one was cheaper?? The MSRP for a car I would "build" is approx $33-36K.

Thanks for the response!

Maybe value-wise.

When I was looking, what I had configured new was about 5K more than used. I'd rather break in my own new car, and start with 0-6 miles on it than 20-30K miles. The price difference dwindled when I looked at it like that, but I'm in my 40's.

My first car cost a whopping 2500, and stretched me to the max. I would have rolled my eyes at anyone saying, "Well, it's only 5K more!"

Good luck!

Wyatt, you're in the PNW? If so, Docroth has just put one up for sale. He brought it around at the last PSMINI coffee meet in the Seattle-ish area, and it looks like a nice well-kept car.

EDIT: Duh. Just realized this was in the PNW forum
