Almost got a grey market one but the people selling them were fools (Zap). This new version is supposed to be better all around in terms of the transmission, etc and I expect it will be the perfect city car

I think they are cool. I saw alot when I was over in spain. I wouldn't want to have to drive one on the highway though. they have moped engines in them...

Well, alittle faster than the 8.2...
but for tooling around town, running errands locally and having my daughter be forced to drive something (and probably be embarrassed to be seen in) other than the minivan or mini. I like it...

Just an F.Y.I... I emailed Smart regarding dealership locations. They said that their dealer info is scheduled to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2007

Very sensible and practical of you, Teresa.
I guess I'm getting old... I want the nonsensible, impractical, fast, sporty model.

Well, bamaTeresaT... I guess I don't rate as highly with the people at SMART cars as you do. No reply to my e-mail. :impatient

or MBE they just answered me quick because my question seemed more like something that was going to lead to a doable sale

I guess in this case, no reply is a negative reply. Oh well... didn't need another expensive toy anyway.

who cares, i'm sure people won't be focused on that while they are vainly looking for parking in a busy city with their fast cars
these cars are not about getting to 60 mph but about urban driving/living in my eyes

Think of the SMART fortwo more like a high end Honda scooter for two that you can drive in the rain and winter without a helmet.

As far as dealer locations, United Auto is the distributor. I imagine if you check where their dealerships are you will have a good clue as to likely SMART dealers, although I don't expect all their dealers to be SMART dealers. I read somewhere that the number was going to be low, even fewer than MINI dealerships.
