RSX-S vs. MCS
RSX-S vs. MCS
So my friend has a 2002 RSX-S and wants to go to the dragstrip next weekend with me. He claims that his car will kill mine in a 1/4 mile. His car is completely stock and I have a pulley, intake and exhaust. So what do you guys think? Am I done for?
just watch out when the VTECHCHCHCHCHCHCH kicks in. it will suck you into the Vteckk VortexR2D2 and u will get stuck in there forever.

Oh, the Rsx will do 1/4 around high 14s, 0-60 in low 6's., heard their 3rd gear is very strong up top..
Well I think this is going to be a driver's race.
Good luck buddy.

ok listen closely. I went to the track with my friends they drive an 06 RSX-type S A spec, 06 civic SI, and sS2000. when we went the RSX ran a 14.6 the SI when a 14.7 and I ran a 14.8. At that time I had cheep really cheap bald tires, with my new nitto's I'm sure the My mini will run faster than the RSX. Any way I have a 06 JCW. This is the key I found for launching my mini. Try to line up first because soon after the last person lins up the lights will start to drop. Go on the last yellow light, you won't red light front wheel drive cars don't pull out the hole hard enough and the time it take for your brain to react when you see the last yellow light (just trust me you won't red light just go when you see the last yellow light , light)
The launch: I launch a 3k with the crappy tires but I hopeing for a 4 to 4.5 k launch with decent tires.
First: Take a deep breath and get ready by turning off the traction control, then get the engine revs up to say 3k and hold it stedy.
Second: DON"T DUMP THE CLUTCH. Gently let off about half way like your riding the clutch just a little bit. once the car is moving pretty well take your foot off all the way and get ready to shift because its going to be about time.
Third: have fun. you should be in the upper fourth gear area when you pass the 1/4 mile mark.
PS: I normally try to stop and get a small bag of Ice from a gas station, I normally try to park the car for 30 min and put the bag of ice on the inter cooler then I normally keep it on and push my car through the line so I don't heat up the inter cooler until right before the race. If its really cool where you stay you don't really need the ICE.

No thank you, I dont sympathize with failure
Nah, I dont like nitrous, at the end of the day the car is what it is. I am willing to move on to more linear power on my next car, i will entertain high output V6s or V8s. As far as the RSX-S is concerned, yeah, i would take him down on the drag strip. However i came across to a TC'ed one which was ugly.....

2006 JCW 0 - 60 6.3 per R&T
its probably gonna be a driver's race.
as long as you dont screw up on your shifts then you might get him......but if you both are dead on your shifts and everything else......well then my friend, dont get to upset if you lose....cause that just means you need to spend more $ on making the mini faster

and if i lose that just makes me want to get all of that sooner

Dude Rick it wasn't a RSX-S if you beat it by 6 cars; sorry to hurt your ego buddy but it was most likely a bolt on RSX with a type S badge.
I agree it will be a driver's race with your intake, pulley, and exhaust; I give the edge to you if you have better tires than him.
My really close friend has a 2003 RSX-S with short ram intake, mugen replica header, straight pipe, hks hi-power exhaust, k-pro ecu tune, and some sort of plastic intake manifold gasket to increase hp. He also has stripped interior, SSR pro-comp wheels, and a bunch of other suspension components because its primarly used as a track/autocross car. He ran a 14.05 @ 101 in Bristol TN this summer on Azeni falcon RT-615 tires.
With no passengers and water/alcohol spraying over my I/C, I pull about 1-2 cars from 1st-3rd, then he slowly pulls back some in 4th. PM me for a link to a short video....

rick ran 14.12.... lets not say 6 cars ain't possible against STOCK type-s b/c u can't win against a modded one... cause that statement is pretty stupid....
