Thanks, I didn't know about Vauxhall's connection with GM. Maybe GM could build it under one of their other marques. The VX220 is discontinued so it is not just a matter of bringing it in.
I would once again point out that this is a GM product. Regardless of the greatness of the concept the execution will inevitably fail. For those of you who wonder what I mean, I am referring to the quality short commings.

How many Mini Coopers have been in the shop for tranny problems?

207k miles and my Saturn is still on the original Tranny and clutch, my MCS blew through those to items in 48k and the parts I need are in INTERNATIONAL back order.
Bet I could still get a better deal on a 1 week old Lotus Elise though.
as how chows said about Neons.... it's still a saturn.
Hey ... A neon will always be a neon. However, given the choice between Pontiac and Saturn, I'd take saturn. I've actually never heard or read much bad about Saturn. New brand (in car years) ... no heritage but they seem to sell.

Yeah, but we all know MINIs have problems Maybe you should have got one of these Turbo thingies from Saturn?

Back in 95 when they were still "their own" car company they were big on no pressure for sales and friendly community type thing (often took part in waving like MINIs do, but then there just got to be too many.

But but that was supposed to be the nature of the forums and people saying everything runs great was a boring read. Besides what happened to its not an 02 so it must be reliable?
(Sorry the new tranny clutch thing is really straining my nerves, esp. since historically that means a new engine within 2 years based on what I've had multiple trusted indepent and dealer mechanics tell me relatives and friends.)
I learned to drive on a '93 SC2. Nice car. We sold it at 120k miles still running strong and passing emissions. Only routine maintenance and a fan motor was needed. The throwout bearing on the clutch was starting to give us problems, especially on hot days but other than that, strong as a rock. We actually considered the Sky when we were shopping for a new car but we needed something with four seats and could carry luggage.

You mean they just don't keep these stocked on the shelves like the wiring harnesses?

The used up the stock around the country and the factories can't keep up. If I had the money I'd drop off a Qualfie and Race clutch for them instead of the factory LSD and clutch.

Ah man, you had to remind me of that...going into limp home mode in rush hour traffic is not fun especially a week after the dealer says the last time it happened was a fluke and nothing's wrong

i see. im not very familiar with Saturn, but their brand image
is like a poorman's suzuki or something. (no offense to anyone, that's
just the image i felt from the media).
and we all know suzuki's are like japanese kia's...
