i know, that thing is incredibly sweet! but i am sure it will be well beyond my price range. Alfa has always made beautiful cars. i am excited to restore a 66 duetto this summer.

I sure hope Alfa comes back to the USA, but with so many false starts (another reason that I'm a GM basher) over the years, I'm skeptical to the point of "I'll believe it when I see it."
When I lived in Europe, the Alfa Spider (FWD) was introduced. Sweetest FWD sports car since the "new" Lotus Elan. Can't wait for the encore.

I would vote that Brera "Most Likely To Be The Next Design Copied By Hyundai In An Attempt To Make Their Cars Look Edgy, Exciting, and Rich."
I would definitely be psyched to start seeing new Alfas on the road.

without a good dealer network they'll fail... quality of the cars has gotten much better of the years but you'll need a good shop for sure...
I miss my Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV2000 from 20 years ago...

I'll also believe it when I see it. GM has "promised" the return of Alfa to the US market since circa 1997-1998 and that has never ever materialized. The initial strategy was for GM to sell these Alfas thru selected Cadillac dealerships, at least that was the plan for 2003, one of the years Alfa was sure to come back to these shores.
Very nice cars. I saw them many times in Europe. One thing people overthere kept telling me is that their reliability is still very questionnable.

It was weird seeing that car on our roads. I hope it means they're about to be sold here. I'd sell a bunch of things to get a Brera coupe.
Methinks thay you may have stumbled across Guido and Lorenzo taking a mini-vacation in a new Alfa spider during a Euro-test rather than the new head of Alfa-USA scoping out the landscape.
Where I live, there's not much value in testing a car -- if anything, they'd be showing the car to dealers or potential dealers. I doubt if they'd drive a car all the way up here from a desert proving grounds -- and I'm not sure Fiat/Maserati/Ferrari/Alfa even have desert proving grounds in the US. Perhaps the car was here after being shown at Concorso Italiano or Pebble Beach, etc., but I don't remember seeing this particular car at those events. In any case, somebody spent some big bucks to get the car legally onto California roads -- it's doubtful it was just for a joy-ride.
Reminds me of when Dodge was selling Fiats in the early 80's - that was a disaster when your car needed service.
Bought an X1/9 in '80 or '81 from the local Dodge dealer - unfortunately, Tony wasn't there to Fix It Again.
