I guess I should count myself lucky to have paid a tenth of a cent less than $3 this week. Yes, my trusty Chevron on Balboa at 163 was $2.999 for 91 yesterday!

My buddy Zarqawi in Iraq is quite upset about fuel prices there too.

He said the price of gas went up 20% there... it's now 6 cents US a gallon.

6 cents.

US.

per

gallon.

Ya'll have a nice day now ya hear?

I'll gladly pay a 5000% premium for gas if it means I can live in San Diego instead of a war zone!

I agree with you on that!!!

Paid $3.19 gallon at the 76 station in Redlands off of Ford street. That station is ALWAYS high (but convenient and next to the gym).

Ouch!!!!

Yesterday I paid 3.14 .9 per/gal. at the Chevron just below Grapevine.
Had no choice, was below quarter-tank and wanted to get over the Tehachapis and SF Valley before getting back home in The Basin.

I lived in San Diego, CA in the very early '70s and paid .28/gallon for premium gasoline to put in my Fiat 124 sedan. That was a shocker after paying only .22 - .24/gallon for regular to put in my VW bug.

But the Fiat was a car that was great fun to drive, better ride, better handling, better preformance than the old VW. Four wheel disc brakes, 2-barrel Weber carb. Ahhhh, those were the days.

Now it is $2.799 or more for premium for my MCS. 10 times the cost of fuel, 10 times the preformance. Guess I can't complain. I just enjoy the drive too darn much.

If we could just get those SUVs off the roads there would be plenty of fuel to go 'round. Maybe we should have the military come home and start blowing up SUVs It could be considered your national duty to dispose of an SUV every day until the scourge of the earth is wiped out.

There's already another thread on this, no need for multiple threads.

Besides, as Tuls, said, You got to buy it anyway so whats the point?

It was still under $3 yesterday morning... haven't checked today, though!

I do know that I'm starting to think twice about motoring off to my favorite haunts... hmmm, 29 miles round trip, more than a gallon of gas... not sure if I want to go there that badly....

I haven't done that in a long time!

Filled up yesterday with 93 Octane at $2.79 per. Course this was all pre-NOLA flooding. Lord knows what it will be in a week or two.

And this is just the beginning.

Last two tanks hurt...

I'm in CA, and two tanks ago, I had to fill up in the hills, $3.039/gal
Last tank, no choice, near SF Int Airport, $3.099! A $42.50 tankfull And that was after not stopping at a Shell at $3.199.

And that's for 91 Octane... Boo hoo.

In SJ, the low cost places are at or above $2.90. I think it will hit or go over $3 for me for a month or so, before the seasonal slowdown kicks in. If we switch gas formulations in Jan, that'll be good for a dime.

The Mustang (much thirstier) sits more.... And it's summer. Boo hoo!

I'm merging this (What are you paying for high test) with a similar thread.

When the full impact of Katrina is realized, I believe $3/gal. will look cheap.

Last weekend, I paid $2.839/gallon for 91 Octane at Unocal-76! Not too shabby considering the inflated rates everywhere else!
