John Z. Delorean; 1925-2005

As some of you may have heard, we have lost one of the most important contributors to the automotive hobby, John Delorean. He died at the age of 80 in New Jersey on Saturday Evening. You can read the full story from the AP at the link below.

Delorean will be missed, I'm glad to have met him before he passed, he was a good man.

This is sad to hear.

I was an occasional caddy for Mr. Delorean at Bloomfield Hills CC in Michigan. It was the mid 1960’s and, as I remember, he was a really great guy and excellent golfer. :smile:

Makes me think back…. Good times.

He helped start and shape the musclecar era with the Pontiac GTO in '64. Ironically, the GTO has been re-released, though as a repackaged Australian GM product.

There would have been even more irony had he died at 88...
