Best place to sell a car?

I have been given the duty of selling two of my uncles' Jaguars. Any experience in websites? ebay motors? autotrader?!? Fan sites?

Any help would be mucho (that's Spanish for much) appreciated!

For really easy and quick sale, go to CarMax.

I sold my WRX there a couple of months ago... got
decent money for it too.

Checked out any online or local Jag forums/clubs? They may have more leads to interested buyers.
Cheers,

I've sold two cars on AutoTrader.com... easy, economical, and I had interest from half-way across the country. And these were ordinary cars... A '98 Nissan 240SX and a 2003 Altima.

CarMax is easy and glad to know Ken got what he considered a good price, but I don't think that's the norm. I think their "thing" is being easy and fast, not known to make great offers for your car.

I had to sell an unusual Saab last year (5 speed Aero wagon), and I got way more online interest from the Saab enthusiast community - so I second MINI-Madman's idea.

(maybe it just takes a special kind of person to drive a 5sp swedish wagon??)

If the cars are less than 5 years old, Carmax might be worth a try, but they don;t usually deal with older vehicles.

I have sold 2 cars to Carmax and they gave me a good deal on both. Yes, it was less than the theoretical "private party" cost on KBB or Edmunds, but not by more than $750-$1000 and on the first car, I was tired of people calling me and offering me 75% of the trade in value all the time and getting no real offers over 4 weeksof running Auto Trader and Newspaper ads. Or I would get a call from a broker who wanted $350-$500 from me to sell the car really quick because they had tons of byers in Miami or wherever for the car.

Anyway, I got a good price from Carmax, however, I will never buy a car there as they pay too much for them to give a good deal.

I've bought a couple cars from AutoTrader.com. I could search for just what I wanted, instead of having to filter through a bunch of cars that I didn't want.
