SOLD...my MCS... Finalized :)
Well ..here's the story..... 
Went to Habberstad BMW and ....and was offered $18k in trade for my 2002 MCS (42k miles)
Found a 2000 BMW M Coupe (31k miles.... certified pre-owned).... and had to give em $11K.
I'm supposed to pick it up.....this coming Wed 6/30.
Some specs for those who are interested.......
Color: Cosmos Black(a very kool dark gray/black color with silver highlights) w/ black leather....
S52 engine: inline 6... 3.2L, 240 HP/ 236 torque
0-60...in 5.1 sec....(all I can say after the test drive is WOW!!!!!!!!!!.... )
5 speed trans
weight 3131 lbs
I've always admired this car and I'm glad to have actually found one....
My 1st impressions is that this is...... one kick-*** automobile....
It has a unique look..it handles incredibly well.... and there is power .... everywhere!!!!!
I was TOTALLY.....impressed!!!!!!!!
I'm always sceptical of dealers so I'll hopefully confirm this.... purchase.... on this Wednesday. If it is supposed to happen... it will 
I'm not planning on leaving and/or abandoning my post here on NAM
I'm not sure how this M Coupe will survive here in NY as a daily driver.... so who knows if a another.... MCS..... will arrive.....in the near future.

I was lusting after a green ///M coupe just yesterday on Wilshire. Very nice car. Definitely give us updates on it over time.
I may be leaving the MINI family too when the A3 sportback comes out.

As far as I know from sources I have read on the coupes the designation remained S52 & S54 for the M Coupe (and M3 engines) for the states. I do find it odd that the non-m Z3's had an M before the engine number - another link describing M series engines : http://www.bmwclub.com.my/articles/m...enginespec.php

Dennis, the M Coupe is a very nice ride and a very rare car I might add. Not everyone liked the fixed roof treatment over the Z3 roadster body but I personally find it appealing.
Enjoy it. You are driving a piece of history.
BTW, I think you did fairly well in your trade in considering the amount of miles in your MCS.

Nice one...that's a great car...I hope you enjoy it to the max...My friend has an S52 that he swears by, and after getting the test drive (he's a professional racer) I would take it in the blink of an eye...

I also heard Eric has one...& I think it's a 2001 M coupe...315 HP

Something about buying cars for their HP...dunno.....
I am sick as today I finally put the ole A-4
on the block, would like to take it with but I doubt the Frenchmen will let me in with four vehicles.....going across the pond......MINI, Allroad and the 190 SL......Super truck is going into storage after the racing season....AH'll be back.......
