1 series?

Soooo ladies and gents. I think I've made up my mind on a replacement, after having driven many many vehiculars in the last week and a half. Including a couple that werent on the original list! Now I have come to the conclusion that I want me one of them 1 series coupes. In particular a new m packaged 135i 6spd. SO! The question goes out, as I know there are a bunch of other bimmerfiles and 1 series owners on the forum.. What option packages should I entertain and which should I not? Other that NOT wanting nav.. I'm open to opinions. Also open to suggestions on forums for the 1 series. Where should I be looking?

I've had two 135's.. GREAT cars. I miss mine alot, but with my bad back, I needed something that sat higher.. hence the countryman.. Big downgrade for me

I've got two discs that are gone.. wrong movement and my back goes out. a low car means twisting to get up = no bueno. the countryman is the right height, just not great build quality IMHO.

I had a 335i, which was too unreliable. Needed the HPFP replaced twice, all the a/c vent tabs broke in my hands under normal operation, had trouble with the vanos, which left it in the shop for a week, the interior paint started to peel on the back of the center console without having any riders in the backseat, it seemed to always run hot, and it would randomly go into limp mode. All the issues were addressed under warranty, but I didn't like the low-reliability of it. Granted this was the original design of the N54 engine (2007), so not sure if these issues have been worked out by now. That being said, it was FAST (too fast for the street), and got relatively excellent gas mileage.

A 128i with the NA straight six and a six speed manual seems like it would be an awesome daily driver allowing you to row through the gears without speeding tickets. Then again, I drive a 2006 justa even though I can afford more.

PS Bimmerforums.com and bimmerpost.com were great resources during my E90 days.

HaHa. Thread HiJack alert.

I also have spine issues. I had a bad wreck in a volvo years ago and the result is my neck is fused and plated together and I now have a torn disc at L4/5. Have to admit, there are days my lower back is a little tender on a long ride in the MINI, but screw it I am having fun.

Thought I would never be able to get a MINI cause my neck cant bend for low height ceilings. Told the salesman, and he lowered the seat all the way and I was sold !!
