No, that's a super-ugly grille; I think Dave's got a bit classier taste than that. Is that a Subaru emblem on there?!

Yep, it's a Subaru. It's called the B9 Scrambler. It's a hybird with 247 combined HP and AWD. It's been making the rounds of the car shows.

Since Dave's such a Subaru lover, I figured this was a natural choice for him.

Here are some more pics:

By the way, Subaru hired a designer that used to work for Alfa Romeo, thus the grille design. According to him, this grille is the new look for all future Subarus.

It's the Subaru B9 concept (full story on SubDriven) I only found that article as a result of seeing this post first, not the other way around.

Strangely, I like the current generation WRX better. This concept is just a little garish.

Well, at least they gave it an airplane name to go with its airplane looks. Garish is right!

It looks sort of japanese retro. I'd like it better if the grille were black and they could do something (anything) different to those front lights. Other than that, it's kind of neat.

Now, could I register it as a "small truck"?

Looks like im going to miss a tight turn with that kind of steering wheel.
Those headlights look pretty ugly, the general lines are cool though.

Loose that subi emblem. I always hated it. I used an I-emblem on my
WRX.

That wheel is a perfect example of the kind of dumb crap that gets put onto concept cars just to raise eyebrows; obviously that would never make it to production (unless maybe the wheel only has about 180 total degrees of movement).

garish to say the least. I seriously question this new design direction.

What kind of car is this?

It looks like a 1960's prototype for the Porsche Cayenne

I did a little asking around. It's called the Mini Marcos and yes, some of it is somewhat based on the Old Mini.
