Month in Italy...Lots of MINIs and...!
Month in Italy...Lots of MINIs and...!
I know it was dirty job, but someone had tooo...
I was very surprised to see lots and lots of MINIs of all types, not a lot of "S," but lots of Clubmans Ones and One Ds'. With gas at 1.37 euro/liter, and the exchange rate @ $1.40/ euro, I understand (sort of) the lack of S models.
What was really cool and you probably have heard this before, are the totally awesome cars we have never seen in the States. The "Alfa" Polizia/Carbinari 159 Sportwagens are just too cool. the car clubs in Italia are thick and sic! The VW Sirroco clubs were out in force with some really tricked out machina (machines). I had a Lancia Eysilon that drove well, was underpowered/not a diesel, but needed another gear on the Autostrada.
Italian roads are awesome and well maintained. Italian drivers are "Alonso" aggressive, but good. Check your rear view mirrors twice for Bimmer or Audi before you venture into the PASSING lane, which is entirely only used for that purpose!
Unlike Colorado, where everyone stays in there.
But, to make a long story short...The coolest thing I saw was a Ferrari Club with about 50 of Enzo's finest, smoking up a back country Tuscan road with get this...a police escort!
Oh yea, the food and vino wasn't bad either.
Ciao,

Ciao,
Somebody's been having some fun. Post some pics if you have any. Glad you had a good time and glad you're home safely. Things I love about Italy/Italian culture: 1) If they love something - they do it. If they love music - they sing. If they love football (soccer) - they play it. In America we pay people to do what we "love". 2) Italians revere and respect their aging/elderly. In America we worship youth. Of course the food, wine, scenery, and the romance that is Italy are all great too.
