I can't even begin to tell you guys how much fun those things are to drive. If I get the money, I'm putting my name on the list. Drove a 97 model a few months ago.

DiD,
I saw these Elise pictures two weeks ago and told my wife I was going to put down a deposit now. She said I'd have to sell my MCS to get it. Well nope, not gonna do that so no deposit for me. MINI cooper police are such a bummer.
The Elise is very cool. Sorta bare on the interior though. More pics to drool over. Please attach your bibs now:

minihune,

Send the garage plans over here when you're done with them. Thanks for suggesting the drooooool bibb.....was definitely needed.

I...WILL...HAVE...AN...ELISE! That is that!

Extraordinarily sweet! Please tell me that a 6'3" person won't fit so I'm not lusting after yet another car.

Sorryto break the news but people up to 6'5" are repoted to fit in the Elise.

And the North American Elise will come with A/C and may offer an optional A/C delete (to reduce weight).

200 or so more pictures of the Lotus Elise can be found here.

Enjoy.

... ...

If either God or Satan is listening, I have a soul that I'd be willing to trade even-up for an Elise.

I like what's been done with the NA-spec interior, versus the plainer UK version:

I'm excited! More than a year ago a buddy of mine told me that he had a deposit on one. I didn't think much of it at the time because the idea of Lotus importing the Elise seemed farfetched.

Time to call him up & see about a ride when it arrives! Whoop!

Great pic! Anyone know what colors will be available? maybe a lotus to match the mini would go nicely in the garage

I've been trying to come up with enough justifications for Daddy to buy me the tiger-striped Elise:

1) It will go well with the rest of my collection of unusual British cars

2) My other ragtop is a 4x4, not a sportscar, so I really do "need" it

3) I've been a very good boy and it could be my Christmas and birthday present combined

4) It will really impress my car club friends

5) I've got it coming to me

6) Because someone else already has one

*****wakes up from dream******

Damn! No daddy willing to buy me sportscars! I guess I can hold off on the custom paint job if it's my hard earned money being spent on this toy

Stupid Question #1: When will it be available for purchase in the U.S.?
Stupid Question #2: Are they gonna have Lotus dealerships, or sell thru someone else?
