I appreciate the "Traveling Circus" that is F1 - but anytime gaz is being burned in a professional circuit, be it NASCAR, Indy Cars, F1, NHRA, Sprint Cars or Lawnmower Races, I'll be watching - or be there in person!
I'll be headed for the track this Saturday. I used to go on Sundays too but the crowds and the traffic made me decide to stay home. I can see the CUP cars practice and see a Nationwide Race for half the price too.
Plus, 500 miles at Fontana can get a bit tedious for the fans. For the drivers, not so much! 205 mph going into turn one would certainly keep me awake!
If you don't want any negative feedback on the topic, don't ask for it.
EDGE, dude! I was JOKING!! OK! It was a JOKE! JEEZ!
I said at the top that this was for everyone who liked or disliked NASCAR. I appreciate your input.
I happen to like F1 too! I love the technology and many of the drivers in that traveling circus. Hopefully, the new aerodynamic and engine rules they have initiated will do something to bring Williams and Ferrari back to the pack, and allow for some greater competition and we may finally see an end to the high-speed parade that F1 has become. And Bernie needs to effen Shut Up!
I also like Indy Cars (though I loathe Tony George for what he did to CART) and I like NHRA. I love the Australian V8 Supercar series - where they drive purpose-built racing sedans on road courses. I am also a big fan of Sprints, Midgets, Motorcylles and Dirt Bikes. Hell, I even like Monster Trucks! GRAVEDIGGER RULES!
And I agree with e92 as well, regarding the technology issue in NASCAR. I don't even think that one could buy a new tractor that comes with a carburetor!! I mean, c'mon...carburetors? But that being said, the competition over a 36-week season is great! And the drivers are getting younger every year.
Rassin is rassin! Even if it is rassin lawnmowers!
