Save some money at the pumps!

http://www.motortrend.com/gas_prices/

I know that this topic has popped up before but I think everyone will like this. This is run by Motor Trend magazine. I've checked out the prices and it's pretty accurate. You type in your zip code and it'll show you all the prices of fuel in your town. I saved a whopping 20 cents per gallon by driving only one mile south of my house rather than stopping by the city where I work! I checked around in other cities and found price differences of almost 40 cents per gallon!! Eek!
The biggest shock was when I found a gas station where PREMIUM was only 1 cent per gallon more than MIDGRADE! Wow!! It only takes me an extra two minutes to drive to that location!

Feel free to try it out. It's much more accurate than the other sites I've tried because the person who told me about this site said they collect the info from credit card companies. Don't worry, it's not risky information. They can tell how much is paid per gallon so it'll update itself. I recommend just checking the first four to five pages since, obviously, you don't have time to scan all of them. By the time you get to pages six through 10, the prices don't fluctuate enough to justify spending time browsing them.

I wish there was a way to show only Top Tier retailers (http://toptiergas.com/). Although, where I live the only one around is Shell, so I'm limited to those stations.

That's cool. Hopefully they keep it updated more often than others. As for the cheap premium, I had a station near my old college that sold premium for the price of midgrade on the weekends.

Just replace your city in the first part of the address and presto.. It always seems very up to date, to the day if not the hour.

I've been following it for the last five days. Half of the gas stations I listed have changed prices at least once since then. It is being updated since they collect the pricing through credit card charge information. Again, they're not stealing anyone's private info. They're just seeing how much is being paid per gallon and put the station's name and address on the website.
