longest time/mi on your daily driver
Some of you seem go through cars like
What's your record for keeping a daily driver?
If you don't drive it all 4 seasons and more then any other car you own it doesn't count
(a gold star to the record holder)
ME:
1st place
1992 Toyota Celica GT (the college car)
2000-2005 ~70,000 mi that's 70000 to 140000
2nd place
2006 MCS
2005-present
7mi-~45,000mi and going
I'm hoping it will get me to 200,000mi (but at it's current rate that will be ~5 power steering pumps and who knows what else)

longest by miles:
89 mustang lx vertible 29k to 206k miles in 6 years - long commute to work.
longest by time:
79 trans am, bought in 84 with 35k miles on it, gave it to my brother last year with 68k on the clock... was a track queen for a number of years before retiring it.
many others with 100-150k put on them before passing on. The most reliable, oddly, was a pair of sebring convertibles the wife and I owned before the MINIs.
The least reliable was a Fiero I owned... I know, don't laugh.

Lol, I know, it was nostalgia I guess... I really miss that car. As to the mustang, the dirty little secret is that the tranny quit at 180k miles, and I converted it to a 5sp. Engine was untouched though, even though it was starting to smoke towards the end. Ford knows how to build good motors, pity their trannies still suck.

1998 Jetta-still running strong. On the road January 2005 with 109,000 on the clock. She currently has 166,500 on her. Original clutch and head gasket. Car has been pretty reliable.
Highest mileage (in the family) 1989 Dodge Ares. Purchased new in 89, sold in 1999 with 175,xxx on it. Only problem we had with the car was it went in for recall work and one of the mechanics pushed an AC soft line out of the way and against the block. He forgot to put it back into place after the repair was complete. Dealership wouldnt cover the cost of the AC repair.

2006 MINI- March 2007-present. 6000 miles when purchased, currently has 21000 miles.
2008 Scion xB- Oct. 2007-present. 9 miles when purchased, currently has almost 29000 miles.
2005 Chevy Cobalt- August 2005-present. 6 miles when purchased, 38000 miles now.
I don't remember any other cars miles before these. The Scion is definetly the winner for me though, 29000 miles in a little less than a year now.

MAN! I thought I was doing well but some of these
stories put me to shame!
87-2005 as daily driver the CRX, 238,000 miles.
Occasional driver right now, 260,000 miles.
I had a mustang 98-2000 (used, 92 model)
but I only used it as a semi weekend car or
for long trips (not daily).
I changed to a 3 series 2 door in 2005 and drove
it 30k miles before it was totalled by a maniac.
(bought at 80k miles, it was flawless and bulletproof
super nice car)

No longevity awards for me, as as I flip cars too frequently...
98 Pontiac Formula LS1. Owned new March 1998 until February 2000. New until 55,000 miles. Only mild issues (alternator and trunk seal). Moderately modified with boltons (torque converter, shift kit, catback, programmer). Ran 12.6 at 108 mph. My only automatic trans car...
1991 Isuzu Amigo 4x4. Owned Feb 2000 until April 2002. 60,000 miles-90,000 miles? No issues, other than replacing soft top. Completely stock.
02 WRX owned from April 2002 until April of 2005: new to 81,000 miles. Solid car, not even minor issues despite being modified as a Stage II car (uppipe, downpipe, catback, piggyback turboxs, electronic boost controller). Fun car, and makes me want a turbo Subaru again at some point.
04 GTO owned from April 2005 until June of 2007: new to 51,000 miles. Good car, minor issues with door locks and turn signal relay. Solid mechanically. Mildly modified with headers, CAI, and dynotune. Loved the torque, sound, and RWD. Don't miss the gas mileage.
04 MCS owned from June 2007 until present: 40,000 miles to 65,000 miles. Basically stock without any issues so far. Fun and economical. Wife doesn't like it as much as I do.
