Ugliest Factory alloys
Ugliest Factory alloys
Who has the ugliest factory alloy wheels?
My vote the old Saturn SC

well an ugly car deserves ugly wheels

I was stuck in traffic and started noticing all hubcaps are made to look like alloys now (and none of them do) but a lot of factory alloys look like hubcap.
Hubcaps used to have style!

Sure the old school wheels & Caps wouldn't look right but these are just sad

My Dad want's Baby moon caps for his HHR but he'd have to get new steel wheels to put them on but these defiantly don't look good on the car!

The Pontiac Aztec is one of the most unsightly autos ever produced. When they roll down the road they actually lower property values along the route. Then there is the Subaru Tribeca, the nose of which is just gawd awful! IMHO
A bunch of cars started showing up with pointy nose/hood/grill things like that shortly after the ENZO came out.
It makes sense to copy a supercar for styling cues just not one that's touted as the ugliest Ferarri ever.
(the Enzo is still awesome though)

For me, the worst looking wheel on a decent looking and expensive car has been the Lexus SC 430. It begs to have some aftermarket wheels on it... At least the crappy looking wheels on most other cars are because they are basically budget vehicles...

Interesting thread. I think there are definitely two different kinds of "ugly wheels" out there - the ones that never looked good from the start, and the ones that probably looked good at the time, but haven't "aged" well as styles and tastes have changed over the years.
Looking at the Cadillac Allante, I actually remember liking those wheels when the car first came out, but (like the grille/headlamps), they seem pretty dated now.
I feel the same way about some of the BBS-style wheels with the gold mesh interior and polished/machined lip (this one is off of an 87-88 Pontiac Bonneville):

I don't remember being offended by them 20 years ago, but they look pretty ugly to me now.

The Porsche 928 ovals were a 'love it or hate it' wheel when they first came out. I guess they sorta grew on me over time, you got so used to seeing them on the car that anything else eventually looked discordant.
