I have left the MINI family...
Well, I did it...I never thought I would, but today I traded in my 2004 Cooper...
Meet my 2008 Saturn Astra!
It's got a whopping 79 miles on it right now, but I think it'll be a worthy successor to my beloved MINI.

Congrats, that's quite a sharp-looking car. How about a review and comparison with your MINI?

No offense, but the interior of that Saturn looks rather plain and cold. How does it actually "feel" ? You know... how some cars when you get in them must feel like they make the driver feel like an integrated part of the car and some of them make you feel like you're stranger on a foreign planet.
The exterior... not too bad. Decent styling.
Hope you enjoy it !

In Europe the Asta is a family hatch, mostly sold as a 5-door to young families and nowadays often dismal powered.
The Mini lives in a totally different segment, it occupies a premium super-mini place in the market.
Essentially moving from the Mini to the Astra is a market segment jump, sort of up in size, but fairly down in quality / image.
Stick around, let us know how you get on though !

If Saturn turns out a Redline edition (260 hp turbo 4 from the Cobalt SS), then I'd be more inclined to consider one. I like the design, though. Hope you enjoy it!

Thrillhouse that looks like a nice car. I see the fact that it is a rebadged Opel Astra as a definate plus.
I wouldn't trade my MINI for one, but that was your choice & I'm OK with it.
Happy Opel motoring.

Yeah. Hope you'll be happy. I'm sure it's a fine car. Will be hard to recognize you for a wave. Sorry.
