Preppy Porsche driver cuts me off
Living up to his stereotype, this preppy upper east side new yorker cuts me off without warning. Funny thing, I saw him get out of his car earlier to check his bumper after a taxi bumped his rear. All he was missing was a sweater vest, but I guess it's a little hot these days.

I've only had the chance to drive in the East once (Hartford, down through the Bronyx, then west through PA) and I thought that was normal behavior. That other video of you chasing the Smart through traffic seemed like you two were doing the same thing to the other drivers.
Nice job not hitting the ***** though. Yes I can call him a *****, I own a 911.

wow, some ugly ford SUV (is there some thing called escape?) did
that to me this AM and the exact stereotype lady was driving it.
mid-30's, brown hair, nerdy glasses, celphone in each of the ears,
and bad driving habits.
and she even looked at me like wtf is my problem for not getting out
of the way.
i think she just needed to pee real bad.

Yeah the pedestrian that was already in the crosswalk
Kind of pales to the cut off.

In my van, I use my train horn. Hehe. They always hang up when they hear the train...
The pedestrian had stopped. No doubt the Don't Walk sign had popped on as Lacning74's traffic light turned to green from red. Inexcusable cutoff by the "I'm-more-important-than-you" preppy driver because was too abrupt and too close, but you get used to such drivers and their antics around here.
Besides, most New Yorkers are pretty much the MINIs among pedestrians.

I'm probably much more dangerous as a pedestrian than a driver. Most pedestrians here will walk and stop right on the crosswalk just like the guy in the video did. I doubt he felt like I cut him off. Don't worry, if he would have walked in front of me, I would have let him pass. I don't look at pedestrians as points.

Also, I usually don't honk, but since the Porsche driver didn't seem like a nice guy when I saw him earlier, I couldn't help myself.
+1, around here that'd get you a cite.
Now the Chevy Blazer that blew the stop sign @ ~35mph then made 3 illegal lane changes in 200yards while downing the bud light, then .5mi down the road ran the red light and sped round a corner toward school children that just got out (2:15pm), they were a ***** and the kind of driving to complain about.
Besides it's not driving in NYC if you aren't running 3abreastin each lane with at least one of the other cars being a yellow cab, and rapidly approaching a double parked semi.

The pedestrian had a stop signal, effectively a big red hand telling them not to enter the crosswalk. In New York "don't enter the crosswalk" means "don't enter the crosswalk because cars and/or trucks are going to be coming very very soon at a fairly high speed and are liable to run right over you". I regularly cross the street when I shouldn't but everytime I do I accept the fact that I'm genuinely risking my neck. In summary the pedestrian shouldn't be where they are and neither lacning nor the ignoramus driving the Porsche can be faulted for 'almost' knocking them down.
So you stop for a pedestrian while they are attempting to push a shopping cart full of garbage bags against a "Don't Walk" signal. In the process, you get rear ended by a chain reaction of other vehicles that were foolishly expecting you to proceed all the way through the intersection with a green light. I'm sure the other drivers involved won't question your judgment or be upset with you... LOL
Porsche driver probably recognized the garbage bag person as one of his ex-investment advisors and stopped to chat.

Oops, I almost did it again!
As a stereotypical bleeding-heart liberal, think-I'm-so-cool, Mini Cooper driving New Yorker, I can't believe I almost ran over a guy in his motorized wheelchair.
While I mentioned pedestrians don't count, motorized wheelchairs do count for 100 points + bonus.

[audio has been removed to shield your ears from my horn and cussing. just kidding.

) it was SOP for pedestrians to basically move as far into the street as possible so they could check for traffic before walking against a red light, so I just assumed that was what the pedestrian was doing in the video.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Dashcams have been promoted for many reasons, but for me, it's a fun hobby.
