Have you seen the new BMW 1 series. Wow are those sharp. I could see that in the driveway next to my Mini. Problem is the mini may get left behind.

I am very interested in the 135i also! I plan to test drive the first 6 speed 135i that the local dealership gets! I'm thinking seriously about ordering one, but it'll be a playmate for the MINI, not a replacement!

The only thing I don't like is how the rocker panel curves upward toward the front wheel...
...other than that, it is one sweet machine.

They should have cut the rocker panel straight like on the 3 series...

...now that car is bad ***!

I hear you. The one I built was about $42K. When/if I get one, it'll have everything except navagation, automatic, active steering, and active cruise control.

It's a lot of money, but my MCS/JCW had an out the door price of almost $38K in 2005. I added the JCW Brakes and Suspension myself for its 2nd birthday present. If I had paid labor for that stuff when I bought the car new, it'd have been the same price as a 135i.

It's easy to blow that much cash on a much lesser car than a MCS or 135i. Even a pickup truck runs close to $50K for a 4 door 4WD Dodge diesel with a manual transmission and the nice interior. (Ford ,Chevy, and the imports bully you into the automatic, and Rawhyde doesn't do PRNDSL....)

I managed to build a 128i with a sport suspension and some basics for about $32k. It looks great and probably handles extremely well. No torque steer either! It wouldn't replace my MINI, but maybe my old Z3...

I have to say that it doesn't do too much for me. Not a coupe kinda guy. Now if BMW would have brought the 1 searies hatch here, well I'd be buying one.

I had a 2000-2001 125 hatch when I lived in Italy. Looked cool and drove pretty nice. Then I bought my 2002 325ci and shipped it back to the States. I love BMW's...

Exactly - as an owner of many BMW's - I am seriously dissapointed in how much they dropped the ball on the price.

The base price for a 135i is only a few thousand less than a 335i.... please explain that one to me.

I was on the sold list, months in advance at my dealership, and when it came around to order one , I happily gave up my spot. Great job BMW.

My wife has a 128 configured around $33k. She can't decide either Monaco blue with Taupe leatherette or Sedona red with Coral Red leather. She had a Topaz blue Z3 with black/blue leather and really enjoyed that so that's why she is leaning towards the Sedona red.

All she is waiting on is the call from the dealer for when the first one arrives. After driving the new 3 series 06 and not enjoying its feel. She wants to drive the 1 series before ordering one.

I couldn't talk her into the 135 and she is ordering the automatic. At least she is getting the sports package.

That first Beemer in PARTSMAN's post looks cool! What is it? The Wife unit might like that one.

The M thingy higher up is bowzer ugly.

I lost interest in BMW's when the back of the car started looking like it was designed by another company than the front of the car was. Same thing is happening at Audi. What's up with that?

That M I posted is something to get used to but I am starting to like it. Oviously, it's not gonna come factory like that. Im a BMW guy and the wifey is a VW girl. I have the Mini. She has the Touareg and we both drive the BMW on nights out. BMW's design is going south but damn...I was diggin this dark cranberry colored new M5 V-10 I was disturbing going down the I-17. Im sure he was saying WTF is that exhaust note coming from....not the MINI!... He kept speeding up and slowing down to hear me jump on it..

Those are 1-series hatchbacks sold in Europe. BMW-USA will not import those, only the 1-series coupes.
Here's the hatchback range: http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/pricesand...-bmwuk,00.html

Saw it at the LA auto show right next to the Clubman . The Cluby was getting more attention . 1 was a little boring to look at , I'm sure it's fun to drive but unless I win the Lotto I couldnt afford it .

In ten years the 1 Series will be as large as the current 3 Series. Then we'll have another oil crisis and BMW will introduce the -1 Series. And so on.
