Especially when the speed of the freeway is any number other than 40 ?

sheesh...I'm starting to figure out your demographic...

Being old has nothing to do with leaving the left turn signal on or driving 55 in the left lane...some of my favorite race drivers are over 70...

Some of you have made good points. Assuming someone who ignores the rules of the road prolly doesn't mind using stolen goodies, then why not stop the spread of the bad behavior by eliminating the means of doing so. I like the idea of displaying them at import car shows. How about the cops using them as undercover cars; around here there are stock non-Crown Vic cars used for "aggressive driver" patrol cars. Imagine getting pulled over by a ricer.

Left Lane Lemmings are a pet peeve of mine. I could easily prove 80% of the drivers around here always use the left lane. But that's another issue.

And don't get me going about geezers, this being a top retirement community without mass transit. Uh... what was I saying?

i live on the corner of my street and the main street near my house is 1.2 miles in between lights. It is a frequent speed zone with young kids and even a few elders. I have only lived here 3 years and I have already seen more than 10 crashes do to loss of control. It is a major fear of mine to have a car come screaming through my living room. So much so that I have build a 6 foot cinder block wall reinforced with steel rods. A neighbor that lives on the opposite street has built a superhouse. (bought an acre of land and build a compound it seams like) He has a few nice cars. A yellow Gallardo and a Late '80s Ferrari Tessarossa. He is probably in his 50's and every so often he likes to drag race one of his cars against one of his buddies. First couple of times I just ignored it, however now I call the cops every single time. It only takes one time to lose control and kill someone. Im glad that CA is finally cracking down on street racing. They need to shut down stores like SuperAutoBacs That place is a breeding ground for racers.

Movie remake idea:

Crushing cars.... Hollyweird trend nowadays of remaking movies, even Fast n Furrious... imports... one of my favorite movies, Christine, what about...
...a hopped up MINI involved in a street race. The crusher explodes because the MINI is SO strong, and escapes...
You saw it here first.

Attila the Hun mentality, ****’s did the same kind of stuff and where does it end? What kind of precedence is being set here? We will teach them a lesson?
If you agree with this type of action by the governments you maybe in for a surprise when that next ticket gets written up as street racing to crush your MINI.
Oh no that will never ever happen to me, Yeah right, NEXT!.

They're only doing to the cars with stolen parts on them. This makes the owners accessory to FELONIES and the cars forfeit. Read the article.

some people (not you) just dont get the message until their car is crushed
either by a tree, another car, a building, or a compactor. lol

so the result is the same. they will be crushed. police is just speeding up
the process for them.

Anyone notice the spoiler on the topmost car (the Acura) in the stack? It appears undamaged. Does that make it the most aerodynamic pancake out there, or what?
