I would suggest that all NWI MINIacs join MINICCI for its 2nd Annual MINICCI North Country Adventure. Peggy suggested that we meet up with them somewhere, (Maybe the Satek Winery in Fremont, IN?), on Saturday. I have copied trip descriptions from the MINICCI web page.

For those who attended this fantastic weekend last year you already know you are in for a treat and our trip planners Marv & Doris have out done themselves again. There is so much going on we added an extra night just to fit it all in! Here is the basic outline of the outing:

Saturday August 4-
Check out of hotel and go have some fun after breakfast at the Debrand Chocolate Tour ($5) before we go to meet group arriving Saturday.
(if you are coming Saturday- plan to leave D&R at 8:00 AM and meet us at the Citgo at exit 116 on I-69 around 10:00 AM)
Participate in the Ashley-Hudson Festival Parade
Lunch at Dillinger’s in Hudson
Tour Greenfield Flour Mills ($5)
Visit Great American Mercantile Store in Orland,IN
Tour Great American Clydesdale Farm (just say no to Mini horses)
Tour Satek Winery in Fremont, IN
Check in Sleep Inn 260-490-8989 Block of 15 rooms $64
Pine Valley CC for Dinner $20 per person
Dessert and coffee at DeBrands Chocolate Emporium

Sunday August 5-
9:30 AM Escorted cruise through Fort Wayne (Northern Indiana “Twisties”)
Tour New Schoonevek Dairy Farm Huntington, IN Marv had mentioned something about milking cows, but I think he was kidding.
Lunch at the Ice House Restaurant in Marion, IN (buffet $8.95/menu $6-$9)
approx. 1:30 PM motor to I-69 and home.

As always Marv & Doris have a fun-packed weekend planned and lots of surprises in store for us.

It looks like there will be two groups heading out one Friday evening and the other Saturday morning. If you would like to join the Friday group for breakfast (on Saturday) you should plan to leave at 6:00 AM. If you would like to join us for the DeBrand Tour you should plan to leave at 7:00 AM

What do you need to do? Get your hotel reservations, post that you are going to attend, when you are planning on joining us and how many will be in your group. If you are still undecided we can put in touch with Marv so you can get all your questions answered.

 

Satek makes one of the best red wines in the Midwest. This looks like a fun event.
