We are planning a Mini Cooper Run for Sunday Sept 26 starting at the Gold Country Casino 4020 Olive Highway (SR-162) in Oroville. Some of us will be staying at the Casino on Saturday 1-800-334-9400 for reservations. We will depart at 9:00AM and take SR-162 up through the twisty mountain roads for a potty/gas stop in Qunicy, then take SR-70/89 and SR-147 around Lake Almanor to Chester for lunch. After lunch and a little shopping we will depart down SR-32 to Chico stopping at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company for dinner and refreshments. Everyone is welcome to join in. We did a pre-run and the roads are smooth, recently repaved and lots of fun. The scenery is breath taking. Hope you can join us.

Hi Norm, it's me Jerry. Just saw your post and wanted to say Howdy!!!

 

We have 16+ MINI/Mini coiming along for this run as of now. The SR-162 portion of the run is a beautiful, smooth, tiwsty, spirited, road, so we are going to split the group up into those that wish to travel at a higher pace will go in the front pack and those wishing to take it easy will go in the rear pack. It should be fun for everyone.

The show & shine at Gold Country is on for Saturday/Sat night. They will be giving us special parking, so anyone with a Mini is welcome to join us. We will be arriving about 2PM and should be setting up about 3PM.

All roads for this run are open and clear according to Cal Trans, no road work or delays.

Weather= Perfect mid 80's and mid 50's at night.

Near full moon for Sat nite.

Clutches out at 9:00AM from the Casino and then its up SR-162 to Qunicy. We will split the group into theose that wish to drive in a "spirited" fashion and those that wish to take it easy and smell the roses (pine cones).

Lunch will be in Chester near Lake Almanor and we ill be stopping for dinner at the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company for refreshments.

 

Just checked the road conditions again this morning and all are clear, no restrictions or delays. We have 24+ Minis for the run and several for the Show & Shine. They have set up special parking for our MInis and they are even giving away a new car (no, not for just the show & shine).
