H-Sport Rear Sway!

Got the H-Sport Competition Rear Swaybar installed on my '03 MCS yesterday.. Holy crap is it awesome.. I had no idea it added so much more turn-in and quickness to the car! It's set up on the middle hole, and so far it's really good at highway speeds, no sign of twitchiness. I'm going for a run this weekend probably through Marin to try it out!

I got it installed at Bay Bridge Motors, where the last pulley install was at. Pretty quick, they got it done in about 2 1/2 hours, and I got the NorCalMINIs discount too. Total was around 200 - 10%, so 180.

Anyway, since I have my old sway bar still, any Cooper owners want to take it off my hands for cheap? Maybe $40 bucks or something? I can bring it to the next NorCal rally, or you can pick it up from my place!

Rune,

I'm thinking about doing the new H-sport rear sway on my 2005 cooper s also. Can you describe in more detail how the car handles with the new rear sway bar? Does your car lean less when you go around a corner? Can you push the car into corners faster?

Thanks,

Paul:smile:

I've only been driving it for a day so far, but I can definitely tell you that the car seems more 'tossable'.. I can just turn the steering wheel, and it tracks to where I point it! I took it to an abandoned parking lot and tried it out, and it's definitely like a go-kart, even more so now (boy, did people stare)! The entire car seems firmer and more planted as well. The car does seem to lean less going into corners as well. I'm slowly building up my speed again towards familar corners, so instead of taking my familar onramp at 40-45, I'm taking it at 55! I have not pushed the limit of the car yet though, since I'm still on all-season runflats and don't know the limits of their adhesion.

After reading the rest of the pros and cons on this board, I'm glad I got it! One highly recommended upgrade. I've got a set of tires and wheels on order, and can't wait to throw those on.. It's going to be a totally different beast.

Thank you Rune! I'm going to go for the rear sway bar. I sounds like a great upgrade to your cooper s.

I have had the H sport sway bar for months and today I added The Hsport springs and Koni shocks. Both additions are pretty startling in their own right. I'm still new here so I am very impressed with my cars handling ability. the Konis and springs were recomended by Randy Webb and installed by RSpeed. I also have Randy's camber kit and H sport rear control arms. Now if I only had some driving skill.
