Thanks to all the experienced Mini owners on this forum, I reached out to German Motor Specialists, Bay Bridge Motors, and BRR.

Bay Bridge got my business because they called me back, they have very reasonable prices, and they've had great reviews here as well as with other friends of mine.

Not sure I understand why GMS didn't/won't give me the courtesy of a call back after one week ... it's a shame, too, since I was looking for a local shop to give all future business to. BRR quoted more than twice what BBM did, but I understand that's because they offer all OEM parts. If that matters to anyone, they were at least helpful and interested on the phone.
