Mayas,

Where are you located? I know of some people in Santa Rosa, Emeryville, Concord, so let me know where you are and I'll give you some names.

Cheers,

Norm

I don't know of anyone in San Jose although I am sure there are.

Try Mini Part in Concord Jon Becker 925-689-4005

SRacer John Koo 510-301-2930

Bay Bridge Motors Jacque 510-208-3273

Might want to make the same request on the MOASF website (Mini Owners of America SF)

I would send you to and HIGHLY recommend going to BRracing in Los Gatos as they have done some amazing things on other members MINI's here on the boards. Both of the owners own MCS's that are highly modded and well taken care of.
They can be contacted at 408-356-1515 or email them as they are fast to respond via email at brracing@gmail.com. Bruce and Robb are great guys and they are very reasonably priced compared to the other shops listed on here.
Good Luck!

I thought we were talking about a 1963 classic British Mini Cooper. I know that BRacing is well established and respected, but I thought that they specialized in the BMW MINI, BMWs, Mercedes, ect. I could be wrong, if so please correct me. Thanks.

I thought the question was a "mechanic" that can work on a classic.

I think that we are talking about the same thing. At least last time when I was in at their shop their was a customer with a 72 Cooper S or something that had one of those Type S or Type R motors dropped in to it and he was going to have them do some stuff with fixing the proper running of the oil cooler and other things. So honestly I don't know if they would be able to help the owner of the 63 but I would think that non of us would ever know till we call or try to talk to Robb or Bruce personally about it. I would say give it a shot, I mean what's the worse that could happen they refer you to a shop in the area that can help?
Good luck with things guys.
