Mini's going North on Thruway Yesterday...

Sunday 10/29 at about 10:30 AM I passed a large (had to be more then 50) number of Mini's which were travelling north somewhere between exits 17 and 19 (I know that is a huge area, but they were strung out in groups) on the New York State Thruway.

Question 1. Any one here in that group?

Question 2. Where were you guys heading to?

Question 3. How does the Cooper handle the heavy cross winds? There were some really high gusts ripping across that highway.

Question 4. Did you guys catch that caravan of 10 Vipers about 5 minutes in front of you?

Was really cool seeing all the different variations of the Cooper, the MCS and the different owner Mods! Made our trip much more interesting....Thanks

check out http://www.nemini.org

I was autocrossing yesterday so I wasn't there, but I know there was a big thing planned.

I wasn't on that run, but to address Question 3: We live in a high wind area, near the base of the Altamont Pass. Windy enough to support several wind farms. In my old Sidekick, I would literally get blown across a lane sometimes. The Mini doesn't even acknowledge the wind. Like my MGB. It's low enough, and less space under the car for the wind to create problems.

Could this have been the Prestige Halloween rally? It was to be held on Sunday morning with a run to a secret lunch spot. I wasn't able to attend but it's possible it was them.

Heavy cross winds? No problem. It's much worse in my wifes Lexus RX300.
