COOPER "S" ON THE WAY
COOPER "S" ON THE WAY
Hello-
My name is Joe. I have been following the list for quite a while. I ordered a cooper "s" from Tony @ prestige Mini a few weeks ago. I was told it should be in by 4/15/05. I’m very excited.
It just happens that I’m going to London on vacation on 4/21/05 & have arranged for a factory tour of the MINI plant while I’m there.

Joe-
No pictures allowed- I read that on the website.
I rented a Cooper "s" to drive from London to Oxford in. It should be fun shifting with my left hand! After the plant tour Im off to Stone Hedge in the Cooper.

Joe you lucky man!... sounds like a great trip. Take some pictures of stonehenge too!
Shifting with your left isn't difficult - you'll get used to it in about an hour or so... What's really hard is the mental/thinking part. So much of driving is ingrained in our brains and we know through years of repetition how traffic moves in certain situations. When you travel to the UK, all that knowledge goes out the window.
Suddenly, making a lefthand turn at a traffic light at a busy city intersection or traversing around one of those 'traffic circles' becomes something you really have to think about!! Good luck - take it slow - and stay away beers at 'Pub lunches' while out driving!! (trust me - I learned the hard way)
