I just had my hood cable reattached at Herb Chambers and it was a positive experience. Somehow my windshield was cracked between the time my car was towed and the time I picked it up, and they replaced it no-hassle. I love MoP but I was pleasantly surprised by HC (much better than my experience with their collision center)

Hi Kerry,

I don't visit this site often, just noticed this reply. I do have to say that I had the opposite experience with the sales department. They were absolutely wonderful and did everything they could to get us in to a MINI that we wanted. This was not easy to do as during the time production had stopped on the hatches to get ready for the 07's. Richard and Kerry were awesome, this is why we bought at HC instead of MOP.
Unfortunately I have given HC service several chances, and it's the same result. I may have to bring it there again as I'm not sure if MOP will be willing to fix HC's screw up (glovebox). I'm due for an oil change soon, so we'll see what MOP has to say.

It is a very sad situation that she has left. What a ray of sunshine and reason she added to the process there. I will also add that I purchased and serviced my MINI there when I lived in Boston and NEVER had an issue with either department. Mark in service is amazing, knowledgeable and accomodating and everyone was always nice ... it was fun to hang and party with them during MINIs on Top as well.

On a side note, and to comment on the beginning of this thread, of course Inskip is going to get you in right away and offer a loaner. The dealership is brand new and does not have the extensive client base or city location that HC MINI does.

Late Post, My $0.02...

For What it's worth, all the USA Dealers I've gone to have had BMW "Parents/Affiliates", but not near the same property. In Italy, ALL the MINI dealers were BMW Dealers, and always on the same property.

So far I've had nothing but good experiences from MoP, but I'm past warranty and don't get the Modder 'frowns' I once got. IF your MINI (or even BMW) is past warranty, pick your battles. If you can find another garage with a BMW/MINI trained (or even better, Certified) mechanic, with much cheaper prices, then I say throw some business their way.

You may still want to look at a MINI dealer for non-DIY mods, but that's about it.

NOTE: In the interest of not getting 100 posts about warranty issues, I will say again, IF you are PAST warranty, THEN find another garage. Call around, get a good repore going, start small, like oil changes, etc...
