Rt. 1 Mini Run - Maine to MASS
#1
Before I plan the exact route and date, I'd like to get a feel for this idea. If you would like to participate, please email me at dugmar@turnermotorsport.com.
The rough idea for a route is this...
Starting somewhere in Southern Maine on Rt 1A (Kennebunk/Ogunquit area). Down the Maine coast to Porstmouth, NH, on to Rt. 1B through New Castle Island, on to Route 1A past the mansions, Rye Beach, Hampton Beach, Salisbury Beach, etc. On to Rt. 1 through Newburyport. Back on to Rt 1A through Rowley, Ipswich and ending the trip on Rt. 133 at the Red Barrel Pub in Essex, MA for a pint and some food... (The Red Barrel has an original 1968 Mini Cooper parked out front).
I was thinking late September / early October, when the air is cool and we can motor with the windows open.
This would be simply for fun. Just a short, 3 State, 1/2 day trip on some fun roads with a bunch of Mini's. No set schedule, we can stop at the beach and play some pinball, people can stray, pick up the pack midway, whatever.
Any feedback would be appreciated. (Preferred Dates would help too)
Email me and I will make sure to keep you posted!
