I have a 2013 R61 with the base radio package. I would love to upgrade the radio to the next level up with the screen in the speedometer. I am trying to stay away from Aftermarket if I can. I am referring to the stereo that was an option at purchase of the car. Would this be a plug and play scenario or will I have to do some crazy stuff to get it compatible? I would love to get the system upgraded without going too far on it.

Damn. I was afraid they would be hard to get. I thought about checking junk yards, but I don't want to spend the money without knowing it is just plug and play.

 

"Heiker" seems to be the experimental MINI owner on this site with all kinds of electrical modifications etc and I've yet to see anything he's altered on his car be 'Plug & Play' or for that matter, easy to do. I swear BMW made these cars difficult to modify change out parts intentionally....
