Angry subwoofer troubleshooting

'15 CMS all4 w/ HK sound (sry having updated profile yet)

So driving along the other day, and out of the blue the bass (what there is of it) drops out. At first I figured it might be the reception since I was back behind a hill, etc.
However, other stations and BT audio from my phone all produced little to nothing.
I had to adjust the bass tone setting all the way to max to even get an inkling of it.

So I guess my initial questions are:
Where is the sub? Could it be a loose connection?
Whats the easiest way to tell if its dead?

Or do I just call the dealer since its only been a week since I picked up this as a CPO
