I just installed a Infinity Basslink in my 2011 cooper S with HK stereo. I tapped into the outlet in the boot for the ground and power as the fuse for the boot outlet is the same amp rating as the basslink. I disconnected the amp in the driver side rear and removed the fuses for the radio and the lighter. The rear speaker wires were tapped into for the signal to the basslink and both rear speak wires are brown in color. There is no feedback through the system and it sounds great. If anyone needs pictures or more detail let me know.

Hurbie, could you post pics if you have them? I'd like to do exactly as you've done, since I already have a Basslink II.
I've re-read this a dozen times, but I'm still a bit confused when you said you disconnected the amp. Did you re-connect it afterwards? Did you tap into wiring on the driver side or passenger side?

Here is a quick video i just did. It sounds way better in person then it does in the video its nice smooth no rattle base. It does not over power the HK system at all i think it enhances it. JL10W0 Sub and 300w Pioneer amp.

That install looks really great- directly in line with what I was thinking about doing (utilizing that sub-floor area for everything). I'm nervous about mounting depth for my current sub, though- do you happen to have measurements for the box you've got? In particular I'm curious about depth.
Either way- looks great, and I'm sure it sounds awesome.

Silksunny, looks very clean I would love to use that big of a box, but with dogs and other gear i haul around, i am thinking of something small scale. Something like in the flkr photo you posted earlier.

I know this is an old posting, but I am looking for some help. I am looking to put a 10in JL sub into my countryman this weekend. I had the sub from a previous vehicle that was wired by a shop, but I am looking to do this myself. I am new to audio wiring and had a couple of questions. Can I tap into the left outlet in the back to run the power to the amp? If I do this will it run my battery dead? Also can I tap into one of the speakers in the back to be the input into the amp?

im clueless when it comes to audio systems. i have stock audio system in my r60s. would adding a sub and amp noticeably make the sound better? i thought you have to change the speakers in the doors.
the price of the amp and sub is really good for me but not sure what it will sound like compared to mine. i listen to pink floyd, black sabbath and other 60-70's music if that is any help.
