Bluetooth questions.

I paired up my Blackberry Pearl (Tmobile) with the system no problem, and can read addresses/contacts alphabetically on the display and call using the buttons so it obviously got them from the sim card. But when I try voice dialing it says "no names in address book". How do I get some names in the book to use that feature? I probably don't want them all. I can voice dial from the phone no problem.
And has anyone used the phone charger/connection in the center armrest using the insert? The MA had a list of supported phones, but he said it was old. I'd use that if I could, it's supposed to connect the phone to the car antenna for better signal strength. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I think the voice dial through the car is seperate from your phone. I think you have to set them up.

The cell phone's address book transfers to the car and you can look them up by name, but you have to program the voice "dial name" by setting up each name and # individualy.

Say 'help'

I added a few this morning on my MINI.

The voice command numbers have to be saved individually as it is a separate system than than your contact list on the phone.

Press the voice command button and say 'help'. Every time you say the word, the car will guide you on the command options that are available for you at that moment.

Good luck

I did try "help". But "store name" was not one of the command options, and "store name" is what the book says you do to get a name (then number) into the voice command book of numbers. How did you do it? There must be some specific order or something. I'm stumped. Thanks

What did your system said when you speak 'help'?

I just checked mine. Once you ask for help, it says that these are the available commands:
'dial number', 'dial name', 'save name', 'delete name', 'read phonebook', 'delete phonebook'.
Press the button and say 'Save name'. It will prompt for you to say the name and then say it again one more time to comfirm.
Then it will ask you for the number. Once you say the number, the system will repeat it. At that point say 'save', and you should be done.

Also, make sure that there is not much background noise when you try it.

I got it to work, thanks for the help. When I had the phone paired up "save name" was not an option (the other 5 were). So I did it without the phone hooked up and I stored them no problem. Thanks again. It's a very nice feature IMO. The BT was sort of a throwin with the package (like auto AC) but I like it a lot.
