i was wonderin wat the specs r on the stock speakers and stereo system. someone told me that the stock stereo is a Bose system, which is really good, but i dont believe it..... i am still contemplating wheter or not to get new speakers and stuff...

any info??

 

I don't think it is a Bose system or it would say so on the front of the radio.
Harmon Kardon makes the upgrade.
Testing is being done on the stock speakers now and hopefully in the future on the radio as well.

The stock head unit in the 02's is an Alpine. I've replaced it with an upgrade. On the back of the stock unit it clearly says Alpine.

 

In another thread someone mentioned the speakers being amplified at the speaker which is a Bose trademark but doesn't necessarily make them Bose. I know I have the Bose on my Miata and this was explained to me when I thought about upgrading them -- not enough power at speed with the top down. The stereo guy said I would be nuts to get rid of them. So I kept it as is.

 

I don't have all the data compiled, yet, on the stock speakers. Got called to Kansas city on an emergency. When it's all compiled I'm making a report with data and explanations. For now I have bits and pieces of the data in an MSExcel spreadsheet. If you want what I have now send me a PM with your e-mail, and I'll mail the sheet. If the data requires explanation for you to understand it, then you'll have to wait for the report.
