Spec'ing Nav because of this

I've got nav in my R53 and think it's great, especially in perspective mode. But in spec'ing out an R56 I've not been 100% sure I wanted to spend the $2100 for it... I could put that towards some LL seats

But check this out:

It looks like it's nav tied to the backup sensors!!

Nav and backup are permanently part of my R56 spec now Too bad we can't get the TV function

Yea, that sonar feature is pretty sweet.

The closer you get to the object, the color of it goes green to yellow to red too.

Very sweet setup. I spec'ed the SatNav not just because of the SatNav feature itself, but also for how it "cleans up" the center column and really enhances the functionality of a lot of the car's features by providing feedback through the larger screen.

It's likely you will be able to obtain a retrofit from the UK. If it is integrated so that you can play DVDs on the factory stereo player, that would be very nice but I don't see much appeal for receiving live broadcast TV.

When I ordered my convertible, because of the rear visibility issues it was actually the rear camera that pushed me over to get the Nav. I had to get it from the UK but I knew I wanted it when I saw it reviewed. It's been great for parallel parking and for backing out in parking lots when my view is blocked by cars on either side.

I believe you need to get the Parking Distance Control to get that visual on th SatNav. See page 77 in the 07 brochure.
