All I can do is commiserate. I can't figure it out either. Is there an instruction booklet or something that I can buy? I'm not very mechanical, but it's definitely not intuitive. Had a dickens of a time getting it not to speak French. ( I'm in Kansas City.) Now it speaks British English, but at least I can understand it! Sometimes mine messes up the address too. For example, if I input 5400 N. Oak Street, it records it as 8600 N. Oak Street. Other times it does just fine. Sorry I'm not helping, but I share the problem!

Traffic info is for a feature that we do not have here in the states yet. At least that is my take on what I have seen on the subject.

Yeah the current GPS in the USA does not support traffic updates. It is only in Europe so far.
