Navigation & Audio Bluetooth for MINI Cooper/Cooper S w/Nav completed
We'll have the harness completed over the weekend and news hopefully early next week on pricing and availability for NAV vehicles.
More coming soon!

Can you take some pictures of your MINIS dash and steering column for me? I can look into this.
For the MINI OEM bluetooth, the convertible mic location is at the dome light/rear view mirror (http://bridger.us/mini/howto/universal_handsfree.pdf). It doesn't seem like a great position for a mic in the convertible.

If that involves lots of shouting over the wind and road noise... then it's quite a tall order to expect a microphone and speaker not attached to your head to make sense of a conversation in the same scenario!
Well... ask yourself - how easy is it to have a conversation with a passenger sitting right next to you while the top is down?

It ain't cheap, but it's a lot cheaper than the "big" OEM Bluetooth kit that I have... and has the same functionality, by the looks of it.
Sounds like at least 2 weeks out due to scheduling the test car.
This is really great news (Bluetooth availability for non-Nav cars that works with the M/F steering wheel buttons)! I hope everything is successful.
One further question: How involved is it to route a microphone to the stock location above the rearview mirror? Would it be easier to mount the microphone closer to the steering wheel?

I can't speak to other locations, but yes I believe it's quite a bit of work to mount the microphone up there. One of the main issues is that the inside A-pillar covers are a "breakaway" design. Once you pull it off, the clip breaks, and you have to buy an entirely new pillar cover. At least, that's my understanding of it. If I'm correct, it's kinda stupid that they didn't design it to be removed and replaced.
Not necessarily, check the part number on your ULF to be sure. BMW still sells the 1st Generation ULFs over the counter due to a parts freeze.

I was thinking of locating the microphone between the speedometer and tachometer (I have the Chrono package option). Any thoughts whether this would work or not? Also, the wiring should be fairly straightforward and not run the risk of having to replace the A-pillar covers.
Any sense of what the pricing will be for the non-Nav Bluetooth system?
