Navigation & Audio power to head unit

How can I rig up the head unit to play when the engine is not running? It is nice to be able to play (loudly) my cd's when waiting for the misses. I have the 6CD changer in the boot (which I think draws its own power from the battery), could this prevent a hook up to the battery. :smile:
