2003 US spec MCS wiring Harness
Greetings,
i was about to replace the stock boost radio and noticed that there apears to be a blue rubber material in the factory radio harness right where the pins from the aftermarket harness should plug in. has anyone else noticed this? Will the pins push through the blue stuff or does it get removed? I am pretty sure i have the correct harness, i can try to take a photo of the blue stuff, but i wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this. i am completely bypassing the factory radio system (all new speaker wires, remote turn on lead, amplifiers, subs, rca's and such) so i don't really need the harness, i could tap the power and accessory wire and just ground it to the frame, but if the harness works, i'd just as soon use that. any help would be much appreciated.
thanks!
Doug

I just (today in fact) installed an after market cd/radio headunit in my 06 MCS. The Metra Harness I bought mated up fine but did not have wires for switched power or illumination. I bought a second harness and stole pins from one to fill the other. Working fine.
