Dension iceLink ground fix for noise issue
I wish I had done a better search in this forum and realized that the fix for my ground loop issue with the iceLink ipod adapter was in here all along. Since the detail was very buried in a long thread, I'm want to refine the good work that matthewz and SuperGimp already have provided (Thanks guys!) and make it easier for anyone still having this issue. Other threads stated that Dension has already fixed their wiring harnesses, but I just ordered ipod adapter a month ago and it was still wrong. The good news is this takes 5 minutes max to fix with a small screwdriver.
In a nutshell, move a black wire so it's next to a red wire instead of a white one.
Instructions:
In the boot, open the passenger side access panel and fish out the connector shown in the attached photo. This is the Dension cable that gets routed up to the front of the car. Use a small screwdriver to pop the side clips on the connector that restrain a wire from comming out of the connector. Then use the small screwdriver to push in the exposed metal clip that also holds the black wire into the connector while pulling the black wire. Once out, turn the wire 180 degrees and snap into the hole next to the red wire. Snap the clips on the side of the connecter back in place and plug back into the Mini CD Changer connector.
Now enjoy your music without any whine!
Cheers!
