2006 HK Head Unit Removal

I got a 2006 S, I am trying to install an iPot Kit. But I do not know how to remove the left Vertivcal bar, screws heads are obtructed by driver side plastic cover. Any recomendation?

driver side plastic cover pops down with a little bit of force. just slip your hand between the steering column and the piece and give it a little bit of hell. (don't pulverize the thing, but you get what i mean). there are two snaps on the front and it is hinged in the back.

i was scared the first time i did it, just because you never want to break anything, but once you get it done the first time the fear goes away.

(unless they changed the '06 from the '05, but i highly doubt it)

Tks, it did work, I was able to install the new iPod converting kit. It sounds great.

just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to install the iPod adaptor once you knew how to get in there?
