Anyone know of one that will work off the OEM 03 Boost?

here's a newb question for you stereo guru's...

Does the changer do DA conversion and send line-level audio
to the HU to be amplified, or does the HU do the DA conversion
for the changer?

I always thought he HU did the conversion and the 03 HU did not
decode MP3 files...

here's one:

i just remembered something...

The audio levels and tone is different from the HU's CD player and
my Alpine changer (the above link). this means that the CD changer
must be doing the conversion and sending line-level audio
signal through the blitzsafe and into the HU while also sending the
text info.

in that case, i can possibly burn MP3 files and listen through my
changer..(?) i should give this a shot tonight. not sure if the text
would show up though... hummm... something new to try everyday.

more info sooo~n.

I feel like im writing my diary, but here it goes.

I burned my MP3 files onto a CDR and was able to playback
the files on the Alpine CD changer...so the changer does
decode MP3 and just sends out line-level to the HU. The
sound quality is rather pretty good.

but no text, no folder skip, just play. You can skip tracks,
but that's about it. so unless you're taking a LONG-butt
trip somewhere i suggest getting a MP3 player and use the
AuxJack for playing back MP3 files so that you can skip
folders, read the title of your tracks, etc.

I got over 100 tracks in that CDR, but I'll have to either
listen to all 99 or skip 99 times to be able to listen to
the 100th track. (know i can go backwards on skipping
the track...just an example, MSFITOY!!!) very limited...
but it still plays.

...over and out.
