Monster iCruze notes...
...got it last week, installed on Monday in my '02 MCS w/standard Boost.
--Pros: Sounds amazing--even though it uses the digital out, it's got to be getting EQ info from the iPod. Simply put, my Boost has NEVER sounded this good; much deeper, richer bass, punchy mids, crisp highs. New price for main unit ($280 w/everything) included install (via InstallCard) when purchased from B&H, I'm guessing others.
--Cons: Playlist switching issue: When switching "discs" (playlists) the first song skips for a few seconds, then picks up. Then pauses while the HU still displays the previous disc/track numbers. 3 seconds of 'CD CHECK' on display, then back to normal.
So I call Monster about the Cons, and they said they are aware of the issue. Not so aware that they put a warning on their site about MCSs
(at least '02s), but aware enough that they're working on the solution, and are going to ship me a new unit (I'm guessing the Bimmer adapter) when it's complete in approximately one month.
Do I wish it worked perfectly? Sure, but I'm an early adopter and am used to such little problems.
Verdict: The sound more than makes up for it, but if you're deadset on an iCruze, you might wait a month or two.
