OEM head unit with factory SIRIUS

has anyone installed an aftermarket head unit using the factory installed Sirius antenna..the reason I ask is the antenna the dealer installed on mine is a 2 wire antenna...and all the new aftermarket Sirius Receivers..seem to be the new 1 wire antennas...I would like to keep the factory antenna with the fitting for the regular am/fm antenna that screws into it....I have done a search on this with no luck...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

There is no adapter that goes from a two wire (old antenna) to a one wire. You have 2 choices:

1. Buy a new antenna. Choose only the terk sir mini or the brand new dot. the dot may not even be in stores yet. I just got mine yesterday. It fits right behind the fm antenna. run the wire into the gromit that houses the rear window washer wires.

2. Use the factory antenna. remove the plastic housing - it has 2 clips. one wire is for satelite and one is for terrestial. If you live in a rural area it wont matter if you live in a city it will.

Doing this you in effect dont have axcess to the ground repeaters. but if you dont live in a city you will never use them anyway.
