Did the FW upgrade, and the ID3 tags work on the HU now. No problem there...

My issue is that If i hit the #6 button, the iPod no longer goes into the Settings mode. I would like to set the iPod to be able to use the iPod nav while in the cradle. Any time it is plugged in, i have to pull it out, set the song, replace it. frustrating.

thoughts?

I don't think you can have your cake and eat it too. HU display is not just ID3 tags, but also all Dension display. When you press 6, pay close attention to your HU display. It IS the Dension menu - but only showing you the line that you a re currently on. It will work as normal - but with the slow response time, it may seem not to.

The other catch is that if you're not in Dension UI mode, you don't get tags.

Perhaps someone can verify this behaviour. This is what I get, but I have NAV (with NAV you can select to get tags on NAV or tags on HU. This is what I see when I select Tags on HU).

Steve,

THANK YOU!!!! this is the exact post i needed.... Once you spelled it out, it made complete sense. I have returned the iPod back to the iPod UI. Yeah, the tracks were cool, but not as good as the interface to the iPod.

Thanks for your help with this...

Did you turn on text display? ID3 tags/Dension Menu won't show up on the head unit until you do this. It's in the settings menu.
