navigation icons

Our new mcs had the factory installed GPS. I called up information on local resturants and now have lots of icons all over the screen representing the location of resturants. Does anyone know how to get rid of these icons?

Thanks

This may work

Run through the same procedure you used for resturants, but this time, have it search for car service (sorry, can't recall the exact title), instead of resturants. That should eliminate the knives and forks. I had a heck of a time getting rid of them on our Mini and also on our Z4. Maybe it only worked for me because we're 140 miles from the nearest Mini dealer, but it did eliminate the resturant symbols. Good Luck !

Has anyone found a better way to do this without having to call up some other information?

For instance, I did it with library's or something and now have little open books occasionally. How do you get rid of them completely?

Also, does anyone know what the target symbol represents? It's two circles with a dot in the middle, and when I drive by one that's on my screen....nothing is there.

Thanks in advance!

Haven't seen the target symbols - no clue what those would be.

Don't think there's a better way to eliminate the food icons - hells bells, you can't even turn off the nav track after you've terminated guidance.

I like the British accent, but overall, I like my Honda nav better. . .

I think they mark the center of the city.

The target symbols represent the center of the city. It is a much more significant thing over here in Italylandia than it is in the US.

Ha

Mini/BMW NAV is junk compared to most I've seen its so hard to get things changed/done on it. Now don't get me wrong I love having it, but its more like Oh, I'm lost how do I get home then oh I wanna find this place to eat it should take me 10 seconds. My friends Accord you can even enter a telephone # and fidn the place in 2 seconds.
