Another Dension Problem :(

I just receives my Ice Link this morning, so I started the install. When it came to the radio connection adaptor...the part that hooks up the headunit slid in perfectly. But then the side that hooks it up the car doesnt fit at all. I tried shaving down a bit of the plastic, but it doesnt work. Now Ive got to wait for Dension to open up, and see what they tell me to do.

hey bigpmj,

Looks like we have a common problem here from Dension. After spending time to take out the radio and all, I went to install my connectors, to find that the IceLink adapter does not fit the Vehicle specific connector that they provided (the small connector that splits off of the headunit connector).

I'm very disappointed in Dension at this point. The unit was ordered back in early December, and didn't arrive until mid-January. And the parts that Dension shipped aren't even the correct ones!!

Dension will be hearing about it from me on Monday

I spoke to both the Technical, and the Sales branch, and sales was much more helpful. I would call up the guy who sold it to you, and speak to him first. The tech people werent helpful at all, they more or less said to me, "Do your best to make it fit." He even suggested not to clip it on all the way! But the sales guy I ordered it from was VERY helpful, and a new part is on the way to my house. Hope everything works out for ya. (and me too )

Well, Dension finally got the replacement part out to me, and it doesnt fit either. So now I have to call them back and ask for a refund. Has anyone with a late build '04 installed an Ice Link without problems? The clip just doesnt fit the car...like maybe BMW changed something slightly, and Dension didnt know it. Oh well...now I get to ***** and moan all day tomorow, in what I'm sure will be a debate about receiving a refund.
