MINI Cooper iPod Interface Adapter

Greetings,

I have a '03 MCS and want to install the BMW/Mini iPod Interface Adapter Cable. I've read (in other forums) that it is as easy as "Just remove the head unit and plug in one end of the connector. From there you just run the other end into the glove box where you're iPod will stored while in use." The "official" Mini instructions however, don't sound that simple. They require the removal of the radio wiring harness, cutting ends off, putting bullet connectors on, etc. Has anyone done this themselves, and if so was it a painless procedure? Thanks in advance for any input you might offer.

nevermind

Sorry,

I found my post and then found several others with the information I asked about. I think I'll try the install myself (too cheap to pay the dealer the $150). Wish me luck.

I've got my MINI interface installed at a local car audio shop, and it was quite simple... If you know how to remove you headunit, cut 2 or 3 wires, and plug them into the new connector, it should be fairly easy!

Just make sure you still have the official instructions, because you'll need them!
